How to write a perfect electrical engineer cv?

1. Assemble your information army: degrees, diplomas, City and Guilds qualifications, patents earned, courses taught, prizes earned. Everything.

2. Styling. As with résumés, there are formats geared toward every objective. Clarify your objectives. Are you looking for a job? Apprenticeship? College or University admission?

3. Check out current trends in CVs in books and magazines and on dedicated to careers and graduate programs. Look at CVs on the Internet, especially within your orbit of interest.

4. Make it technical. Do not be afraid of hr personnel. Ultimately your cv will be in hands of people who know technical terms you are talking about.

5. Top of resume should include your personal information (name, address, email, phone)and I always advice to do some character type measurements. Do some tests: Jung (Myers-Briggs), Belbin team roles test, unveil your learning style (VARK test). This will tell more about you to hr staff and potential employer but also will give you greater insight into your personality. You might discover things you never knew before about yourself. And finally - having all this type measurements on your resume means to potential employer that you know yourself and your potential. And looks professional above all. (Remember the edge over other's resumes)

6. Straight after you should reveal your Objectives. Clearly state your ambition. Your precise relevant electrical engineering aim.

7. Jobs - list of most recent positions held by you is the next step. If you are graduate or just finished school and do not have relevant experience - state your qualifications.

8. For those experienced enough educational section is next after the employment. Present your dissertation thesis, your specialization, your major project.

9. Highlight professional achievements and qualifications: City and Guilds, 16th and 17th editions, software and hardware you know, etc.

10. I never advice people - especially those after apprenticeship to write a hobby section. Being a gang member is maybe a hobby but definitely it will not secure a job. Instead write a nice cover letter highlighting your personal character and something you are proud of. Have you been on tele because of your voluntary work? Have you organize concert or your article was published? MD's and CEO's very much look at those details as they make potential PR value. That is why i.e. clubs wants Beckham. PR potential. Something extra. This is your edge. And try to tell this in your covering letter.

Conclusion:

- sets the right positive, progressive tone
- is explicitly informative and relevant to the job role
- projects a confident, polished and professional image
- clearly, yet succinctly outline initiatives and achievements
- highlights qualifications, skills, experience and personal style
- illustrates contributions to efficiency initiatives and organizational change
- conveys diversity of skill and knowledge of new legislative H&S policies
- demonstrates interaction with colleagues and employees at all levels across across organizational boundaries
